Akshobya Buddhist Meditation Centre

Peace in the Heart of Nottingham

Akshobya Buddhist Centre provides a place of peace and tranquillity in the heart of Nottingham, where people can learn about Buddhism and meditation, or just chill out. We offer classes, retreats and courses that are suitable for everyone, from those who simply want to relax to those who wish to find lasting inner peace and happiness through following the Buddhist path.

A Living Buddhist Tradition

Akshobya Buddhist Centre is a member of the New Kadampa Tradition - International Kadampa Buddhist Union. The NKT - IKBU is a Mahayana Buddhist tradition, founded by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, which helps people from all walks of life develop peace and happiness through understanding and practising the teachings of Buddha. The worldwide Kadampa community is like a global spiritual family, offering support and encouragement to those wishing to engage in spiritual practice.

World Peace Café & Shop

Situated in Akshobya Buddhist Centre is the beautiful World Peace Café. We serve delicious, vegetarian soup and hot paninis with a choice of fillings. We also offer a selection of coffees, teas, cold drinks and cakes, including organic and fair trade varieties.

Unwind and meet people in the gentle and inspiring environment of the café, or sit outside on the terrace and enjoy the garden, a haven of peace in the heart of Nottingham.

You can also browse our shop for Buddha statues, books, cards, small gifts, and some health food items.

The world peace cafe is currently closed and we are looking for a new cafe manager. Anyone who might be interested in this role is invited to contact the Centre.
