Description

Join us on Tuesday evenings for an hour dedicated to finding happiness within.

“Problems, worry, pain and unhappiness are types of mind; they are feelings and do not exist outside the mind. If we cherish everyone we meet or think about, our mind will be at peace all the time so that we will be happy all the time..”

Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso (How to Transform Your Life)

In this five week course we will explore practical methods taught by Buddha to empower us both to make our minds peaceful and positive and bring real benefit everyone we meet.

24 Feb:  Why do we need to train in loving kindness to find peace of mind?

3 Mar: How can we develop a loving mind towards others?

10 Mar: How to feel close to everyone

17 Mar: Compassion – protection for our mind

24 Mar: Love

Each class is self-contained and on a drop-in basis, but attending the whole course may help in gaining a deeper understanding of the practice.

This series of meditation classes is suitable both for those new to Buddhist meditation and those more familiar with the practice.

The classes are offered in-person on Tuesday evenings (6.30pm-7.30pm) at Middle Street Resource Centre, 74 Middle Street, Beeston NG9 2AR

Cost £7 (free for members).

Booking not essential, payment can be made on arrival (cash or card).

EVERYONE WELCOME

Teacher

Jane is the teacher of the Beeston class and our Education Programme Coordinator. An experienced Kadampa Buddhist practitioner, she shares Buddha’s teachings in a warm, practical, and down-to-earth way that’s easy to relate to. Jane first discovered Kadampa Buddhism at Kailash Buddhist Centre on the Wirral, later deepening her practice while living and working at Tara International Kadampa Retreat Centre in Derbyshire. Her approachable style helps students feel relaxed and inspired as they explore meditation and Buddhist wisdom.
