Description

With Special Guest Teacher: Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab

We all know how difficult it is to find and maintain a peaceful mind. In this half-day course Gen-la Khyenrab will introduce us to practical methods taught by Buddha to train our mind.

In his popular book ‘How to Transform Your Life’, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche says:

“Since time without beginning we have been under the control of our mind, like a puppet on a string. We are like a servant working for our mind; whenever our mind wants to do something, we have to do it without any choice. Sometimes our mind is like a crazy elephant, creating so many problems and dangers for ourself and others. By sincerely engaging in spiritual practice we can reverse this situation and gain mastery over our mind. Transforming our mind in this way, we will finally enjoy real freedom.”

We are delighted to welcome a very special guest teacher for this course. Gen-la Kelsang Khyenrab is a retired General Spiritual Director of the NKT-IKBU and he has trained closely with Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for more than forty years. His humility and pure example reflect his many years of reliance on his Spiritual Guide. An internationally renowned Teacher, he is greatly admired as a sincere practitioner and a powerful Teacher. He is also well-known for his wisdom and deep understanding of Buddha’s teachings, and for his pure example of compassion and loving-kindness. Gen-la Khyenrab is the Resident Teacher at Tara Kadampa International Retreat Centre at nearby Etwall, Derbyshire.

Join us in person at Kadampa Meditation Centre Nottingham, Gedling House – the perfect way to experience the benefits of meditation, on Saturday 24 October from 10:00 am – 1 pm.

How to find us (Gedling House)

Free parking is available at the centre.

Disabled access and accessible parking available.

Directions :

Please note that some sat-navs show an entrance to Wood Lane from Colliery Way that does not exist! The only way to enter Wood Lane is via Shearing Hill/Main Street, Gedling.

We are situated at the end of Wood Lane, past the school. Wood Lane splits into two at the school entrance – so keep going straight ahead, rather than carrying on left up the hill. See map above.

Kadampa Meditation Centre Nottingham at Gedling House should be available on sat-navs, or you may wish to use ‘What3words’: spare.reader.ruled.

Please take care driving down the lane as we are blessed with a lot of wildlife.

Buses:

The nearest bus stops:

44 & 44A: Main Road, Gedling (Church View stop) – walk to mini-roundabout, down towards Shearing Hill and left into Wood Lane.

26, 26A, N26: Burton Road (Florence Road stop) – walk up Coronation Walk and through the pedestrian alley to Wood Lane.
