Description

Our meditation classes on Monday evenings (7 – 8.15pm) are suitable for everyone, but are particularly helpful for those interested in learning more about Buddhist meditation and practice.

Each class is self-contained and on a drop-in basis, but attending the whole course may help in gaining a deeper understanding of the practice.

Patient acceptance is often thought to be a weak and passive response to problems we have neither the power nor the courage to solve. In reality, however, being patient is far from being passive.

“If we truly understand the value of patience, we shall never resent an opportunity to practise it.”

Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso: How to Solve Our Human Problems

In this seven week course we explore the beautiful and powerful mind of patience which enables us to remain calm and peaceful while responding in a positive and beneficial way to difficult situations.

This series of meditation classes is suitable both for those new to Buddhist meditation and those more familiar with the practice.

Patience – a peaceful mind in a turbulent world:

7 Sep:  Who needs anger?

14 Sep:  What is patient acceptance?

21 Sep:  Learning to accept difficulties with a happy mind

28 Sep: Dealing with difficult people (part one)

5 Oct: Dealing with difficult people (part two)

12 Oct: What’s really going on?

19 Oct: Overcoming jealousy

During the class there is an opportunity to ask questions and you are welcome to stay afterwards for refreshments.

The classes are offered in-person on Monday evenings at 7pm at KMC Nottingham, Gedling House and available as a livestream to members.

  • £8.00 per class (£49 for seven-week course)
  • Free for members

Booking not essential, payment can be made on arrival (card or cash payments welcome).

EVERYONE WELCOME
